The world of freelance web design. It's a mystery. What do I do? Some might think I sit in my pajamas in front of a computer all day. Those people are wrong right. Actually, I am a part-time web freelancer, so I only sit in my pajamas for part of the day. But what do I do while I'm in my pajamas? Hold onto your hat, you're about to find out!

"Megan took Designing Travel Inc. and produced a brilliantly thought out website, her approach and advice made our website what it is. She understood our vision and shaped our ideas into a design that targeted our exclusive market of clientele. Working with her was a pleasure, and the investment has already been a huge success. Thank you."

Seedy Sunday
Seedy Sunday was another project taken on for Capstone. This project was a fun, light site that promoted a seed exchange in Edmonton, AB. I was given free reign over this site and was very pleased with the overall feel of the finished product. The client was also pleased with the project and looks forward to using the site for the 2013 event.

iHuman's Capital Campaign site was a project I took on for Capstone. Working with iHuman brought some interesting challenges with it as they have a very specific purpose and aesthetic already. By working together, iHuman and I were able to create a site that we were both pleased with and that served the purpose that iHuman was looking for.

Intercom Newsletter
NAIT's Staff Association was looking for a re-design of their monthly newsletter as well as a re-branding of their logo. This was my first print project and despite learning some new techniques and software, the process was relatively smooth. I am pleased with the current outcome and look forward to making adjustments as I learn more about the print design side of my career.
IntercomDuane Sharman
I took Duane on as a client for a school project. Duane was looking for a website that would reach out to his prospective clients. As a composer that uses digital composition in his studio, Duane wanted to stand out from the rest. His website has helped him gain a number of clients and we continue to work together to keep his site up to date.

Make it Pop!
For a class in colour theory, we were tasked with creating a poster for an art era exhibition. I chose to use pop art because of it's bold colours and risqué content (of the time). Using a pop art image and appropriate typography, I produced a poster that I am proud of.
Make it Pop!Shayla Celebrates
One of my favorite photos to date, this photo of Shaya really captures emotion. As a photographer, I love being able to capture the innocence of a child and this picture speaks volumes to me every time I look at it. Shayla's big blue eyes and natural light from the window made this photo truly come to life.

Relaxing
This dog really is a man's best friend. Mickey likes nothing more than to curl up with you and have a cuddle. This photo really shows Mickey's true personality. The dim light and the soft look in his eyes bring a feeling of calm and relaxation.
Chill OutDesigning Travel
The ladies behind Designing Travel came to me with the wish to have a website for their growing business. They were advertising in a magazine and wanted to be able to showcase a website for their clients to browse. As my first ever site, we were all very proud of the outcome and the website has served their business well.
